November Convocation

The next Fall Convocation at the Royal Military College of Canada will be held on Friday, 19 Nov 2010 and will commence at 1400 hrs in Currie Hall, Currie Bldg. (Bldg 17 on the Campus Map).

Dress for the Ceremony

For all other military graduands the dress will be 1 A (with medals, no gloves). For civilian graduands semi formal attire (business suit or equivalent) is to be worn. For RMC ROTP-RETP Officer Cadets in attendance the dress will be Scarlets – 1 M summer.

All graduands will require a graduation hood. Civilian graduands will also wear a black academic gown over their clothes during the ceremony

Graduation Hood and Gowns

Graduation hoods and gowns may be signed out by ROTP, RETP, UTPNCM graduands as of 08 Nov 2010 at Currie Hall mezzanine. Faculty may also sign out black gowns at this time.

Graduation hoods and academic gowns may be signed out by Post Graduands and Continuing Studies Graduands in room 350 in McKenzie Bldg from 1030 hrs until 1230 hrs on the day of Convocation and are to be returned immediately after the Convocation Ceremony..

Convocation Dress Rehearsal

A Convocation rehearsal for available graduands (dress of the day for military personnel – business casual for civilians) will be held on 18 Nov 2010 at 1330 hrs. All available participants are requested to be present at Currie Hall by 1320 hrs.

Assembly Area for Academic Procession

A short briefing for Graduands will be provided in MK350 on the day of Convocation at 1300 hrs.

On the day of Convocation, all RMC Faculty members attending Convocation are asked to arrive at the assembly area (MK250) by 1300 hrs.

Guests for the Convocation Ceremony

Guests of all graduands are very welcome to witness the Convocation ceremony and should by seated by 1340 in Currie Hall, Currie Bldg (Building 17 on the Campus Map). Seating is on a first come first served basis and is fully accessible.

Graduation Rings, Frames, Souvenirs and other mementoes are available at the RMC Club Gift shop.

Accommodations

A variety of Hotel, Motel and B&B establishments are available in the greater Kingston area. It is recommended that you make your reservations early as many other activities do occur at this time of year and availability may be limited.
