Evaluation of Performance of Chemical Protective Equipment

Dr. Eva Gudgin Dickson, Sr. Researcher - Department of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering

The level of protection provided by military and civilian protective equipment against simulated toxic chemicals is evaluated at the Chemical Protective Clothing Test Facility at Royal Military College, Kingston. Since 1988, hundreds of tests of equipment have been performed, with types of equipment ranging from in-service and prototype military chemical protective clothing and casualty bags, through equipment used by first responders in response to terrorist incidents.
