Magali Deleuze earned her BA, Licence en histoire and MA in French colonial history from the Sorbonne (Paris-IV) and completed her Ph.D in history at the University of Montreal in 1999. Her doctoral thesis explored the reaction of Quebec intellectuals to the Algerian War (1954-1964). Her current research interests lie in Canadian external relations particularly the international history of Canada - Quebec since 1945 and impact of post-colonial conflicts on the rise of Canadian Foreign Policy. She is member of the Interuniversity Group for Contemporary International Relations History (GIHRIC) created in 2004, of the Interuniversity research group on the Quebec of the Sixties and its external relations (GRIQUERE).
