Continuing Studies – CF Members and Spouses
Admissions
All Regular and Reserve Force members and their spouses have the opportunity to further their education through RMC’s Continuing Studies Programmes. CF members are encouraged to include their academic goals as part of their personal learning plan and maximize their opportunities for reimbursement of their tuition fees.
Accessibility:
- Attendance on College grounds is not required.
- Many courses are offered in both official languages.
- Many courses are offered at the student's location, using the most appropriate distance learning mode
Prior Learning Assessment:
- Full transferability of approved university level credits obtained elsewhere.
- Credit is granted, as appropriate, for university level professional and DND courses
- Credit(s) for second language proficiency
Flexibility:
- Timetables accommodate interruptions due to operational commitments
Relevance:
- In-service related courses can make up a significant part of the content for some programmes.
- Standard courses will be taught, where possible, within the defence context.
- New courses specific to the defence context and unique to these programmes are designed and offered.
Applicants applying to the various degree programmes as a regular student must meet the pre-requisites listed here.
Those applying as Interest only or Mature students are urged to read the pages specific to their choice.
Applicants must also meet one of the following conditions:
Be a MOC (Military Occupation Classification) qualified member of the Canadian Forces (CF), including members of the Reserve Forces. Non MOC qualified members may apply with the recommendation of their unit or formation Commander.
How do I apply as a Distance Learning Student?
- Fill out the RMCC Application for Admission for Undergraduate Studies and pay the application fee.
- Submit the appropriate supporting documentation:
- Photocopy of high school transcript and official transcripts of any college/university course marks
- A letter describing your background, experience and educational goals
- If Regular Force, a Military Personal Record Résumé (MPRR) (formerly CF 490A)
- If Reserve Force, a CF 1007 Record of Reserve Service
- If you are a spouse, please provide proof of same if your name is not indicated on the Military Personnel Record Résumé (MPRR -formerly CF490A). Include a copy of your spouse’s Military Personnel Record Résumé (MPRR).
- If you are an indeterminate or term civilian employee of the Canadian Federal Government please send a photocopy of both sides of your government ID card or letter of employment offer.
