- Academic Search Premier (through CFVL)
- Academic Search Premier indexes over 8,000 scholarly publications, and provides full text for more than 4,450 of these titles, including 3,500 peer-reviewed journals. Features such as citation indexes are provided. Coverage spans every area of academic study and offers information dating as far back as 1975. This database is updated on a daily basis.
- AfricaBib.org, Africana Periodical Literature Bibliographic Database
- AfricaBib has several databases and online resources that cover Africa. Most notable are: the Bibliography of Africana Periodical Literature Database which indexes Africana periodical literature, and the African Women's Database which indexes African Women's literature. There is also a bibliography on women travelers and explorers to Africa
- America: History and Life, 1964-
- Index to theses and over 2,000 periodicals from over 80 countries in 40 languages covering all aspects of the history of the U.S. and Canada, such as politics, social issues, economics, culture etc.
- American National Biography
- The landmark American National Biography offers portraits of more than 17,400 men and women from all eras and walks of life whose lives have shaped the nation.
- Biblioteca Classica Selecta
- This site was created by two Belgium university professors to provide resources on the Greco-Roman world, especially in history and literature. The databases include TOCS-IN, an index of journals and other works.
- Britannica Online
- EB Online offers several different information sources that are authoritative and comprehensive. The Encyclopedia Britannica covers almost every subject, and many of the articles have been written by world experts. Also offered are the Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and the Britannica Book of the Year.
- Canadian Foreign Relations Index, 1945-
- Canadian Foreign Relations Index is an online index to Canadian and foreign materials that cover various aspects of Canadian international relations, such as defence, economic relations, foreign aid, international law, etc. The database includes over 47000 citations in both English and French that refer to a variety of materials published from 1945 to the present. Types of publications covered include journal articles, books, theses, conference proceedings, government publications, etc.

Index of Canadian and American English language periodicals on a wide variety of subjects, such as business, sciences, arts and humanities, social sciences, environment, etc. Full text articles from 150 of these periodicals. - Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO)
- Columbia International Affairs Online is a fully indexed and searchable library of full-text electronic documents. Documents include working papers from 80 international institutions focusing on security, politics, economic, international history and international relations. Conference proceedings from 35 professional associations, 37 contemporary journals, books from 17 different publishers, economic indicators, and links to maps, events, and other resources are also included in the library. A link explains how to cite electronic references from CIAO.
- Country Studies (Library of Congress)
- This is the online version of the Country Studies series, which profiles a variety of countries from various viewpoints, such as history, society, economy, politics, and national security.
- Echo
- ECHO (Exploring and Collecting History Online) is a directory to 5,000+ websites concerning the history of science, technology, and industry.
- Gallica (Bibliothèque nationale de France)
- Gallica is an online collection of over 90,000 digitalized works, 80,000 images and several sound recordings from the National Library of France. Various aspects of French culture and civilization are covered, such as literature, history, political science, economics, science, etc.
- Historical Abstracts, 1954-
- Index to theses and 2,000 journals from over 80 countries in 40 languages covering all aspects of world (except North America) history from 1450 to the present, such as politics, social issues, economics, culture, etc.
- HLAS Online: Handbook of Latin American Studies (Library of Congress)
- HLAS Online offers a variety of online resources on Latin America, most notably a bibliography of works in the humanities and social sciences.
- JSTOR (through CFVL)
- This database is a full-text archive for journals in humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Most recent issues (3 to 5 years) are not available, but in some cases may be accessible through other library databases. The following collections are included:
- Arts & Sciences I Collection - This collection of 119 titles includes core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences, and titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics.
- Arts & Sciences II Collection - This collection of 124 titles adds depth to many disciplines introduced in Arts & Sciences I, such as economics, history, and Asian studies, as well as core journals in disciplines, such as archaeology, classics, and African, Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Slavic studies.
- Arts & Sciences IV Collection - This collection of 112 titles has a strong focus on the professions of business, education, and law, and also includes titles in psychology and public policy and administration.
- Arts & Sciences Complement - This collection covers important titles not included in earlier collections and captures journals that cross discipline boundaries. A minimum of 150 journals will be added over five years, concluding by the end of 2008.
- Index to 400 English language periodicals covering subject areas such as art, drama, history, literature, philosophy, politics, and religion.
- The Nation Archive (through CFVL)
- The Nation Archive contains indexing, abstracting, and full text for all the issues of The Nation, beginning with its first issue in 1865. The Nation is America’s oldest weekly magazine and one if its premier journals of opinion on politics, culture, books, and the arts.
- The National Review Archive (through CFVL)
- The National Review has provided insightful and unique coverage of political, economic, social, and cultural issues and trends since 1955. This archive offers complete indexing, abstracting and full text coverage for all issues of the journal.
- The New Republic Archive (through CFVL)
- For ninety years The New Republic has provided in-depth examination of American politics, foreign policy and culture. This database offers complete indexing, abstracting and full text for all issues since the inception of this journal in 1914.
- Oxford Dictionary of National Biography Online
- Oxford Dictionary of National Biography Online is a collection of more than 57, 000 biographies which describe the lives of people who influenced the history of the British Isles from the 4th century BC to the 21st century.
- Peace Research Abstracts, 1964-
- Peace Research Abstracts is an index to the literature concerned with every aspect of peace studies, factors making for war and peace, and related studies in international relations. Each issue has over 600 abstracts which cover books, journals, government publications, scholarly papers, significant speeches, international research studies as well as 'fugitive material'. This index is compiled by the Peace Research Institute in Dundas, Ontario.

- Archive to 1995 of 150+ social science journals with emphasis on international affairs, history, politics and economics.
- Project MUSE
- Project MUSE provides full text, subscription access to current content from scholarly journals in the humanities and social sciences.
- REPÈRE, 1980-
- Index to 550 French language periodicals, including the full text for some articles, covering all subject areas, such as the arts, computer science, current events, economics, medicine, philosophy, politics, psychology, sociology, and sports.
- Web of Knowledge, 2004-
- The Web of Knowledge provides access to current and retrospective
multidisciplinary information from approximately 8,700 of the world's
leading scholarly research journals. It also provides *cited reference
